My name is Sharon Wilson and I began showing and breeding Cardigan Welsh Corgis (the Corgis with a tail!) over 40 years ago. I have literally lost count of how many AKC conformation champions I have finished during that time, but it has got to be close to, or maybe even over, one hundred. This number does not include the many performance titles earned by pups bred under the Legacy Kennel name. Further, we have quite proudly produced many wonderful dogs, who have excelled, or have even championed in conformation, agility, herding, and/or performance competitions.

I have produced multiple dogs who have ranked in the top 5 in the U.S. for several years running. But our biggest claim to fame is the gorgeous MBIS MBISS GCH Platinum Legacy Legend’s Caribbean Gem “Larimar”. She won the Cardigan National Specialty in 2014 and Best of Opposite Sex in 2018. She also had multiple group placements, and five Best in Shows. This very special girl was bred by myself, Sharon Wilson, and Cydne Clark and Valerie Boyce.

Even while I have been raising Cardigan Welsh Corgis, I was also a special education teacher for 32 ½ years. I am the mother of 4, grandmother of 8, and great-grandmother of 6 great-grandsons. After my divorce, I married my life partner, Lee Hardigree, who was an Occupational Therapist serving the Birmingham area for over 35 years. More importantly, she is the other half of Legacy Cardigans. Whelping the puppies is her specialty, and she is usually the one to return your call, regarding your inquiry about adopting a Legacy Cardigan.

Purchasing a cardigan puppy is an investment. Yes, you can find them cheaper, but Legacy Cardigans stands behind our breeding forever. We provide a Lifetime 5-year health guarantee for any genetic health disorders. The old saying: “You get what you pay for,” applies here.

Shipping within the continental U.S. is $475 via American Airlines. This is discussed in full, in the shipping information document.

Affordable ground transportation provided by Christion Transportation. Christion transports only one dog at a time and keeps you updated along the way with photos and location updates. He came highly recommended, and I couldn’t be more pleased!

The price of a pet puppy on limited registration is $2,875 for all colors except blue merle. The price of a blue merle pet puppy on limited registration is $3,275. Legacy Cardigans pays for AKC Registration, and the AKC Lifetime Registration fee for their microchip, for all of our pet/companion puppies.

Deposits are $500, and are NON-REFUNDABLE. So, please be ABSOLUTELY sure this is what you want to do before placing your deposit.
